Anyone who suggests he sits on a bench at whatever club in the world, hasn't seen him play.

Re: Declan
Plays every game
Captain of his club
England regular
England captain within 2 years
Regularly plays in Europe
Will become a multimillionaire
Plays in front of 60,000 adoring fans every other week.

Why would he want to leave that?

Goes to a “ big “ club, has a couple of stinkers and gets benched, crowd turn on him and he ends up like Danny Drinkwater or Jesse Lingard.

Let Julian Dicks be a lesson to him!

Re: Declan
Apart from Chelsea's general problems transitioning to new owners they are losing Rudiger, Azpulicueta & Christenson (& T Silva is 37) so will have to rebuild their defence.
While maybe taking a hit on Lukaku & Werner while looking for a striker who isnt too fat or can hit a barn door from 10 paces.
I think we will get 1 more season.

Still think Man U will be sinking even then.
Dont see an easy quick fix there. Passed up the chance for Pochettino & then Conte. Maybe 10 HAG is a genius but going from shooting fish in a barrel at Ajax in the Dutch league to a rebuild to match City & Liverpool is a MASSIVE (if not near impossible) job.

Re: Declan
The only club that both needs him and can afford him at the moment is Man U. Trouble is, it's a toxic shit-hole and Dec would be mad to go there.

Re: Declan
I think more of a question is who can/will buy him .

Chelsea will have their purse strings pulled a bit tight at the moment so I’d say a no.

Man U similarly might not have the 100m to knock around as they need a serious re-build . Personally I think he’s exactly what they need . Can see him being a Ten Hag man

Man City probably don’t need him

Liverpool ditto

So who’s left ? Can see Spurs Arsenal in either

Italian clubs are broke and again can’t see the Spanish giants in either .

He’s gonna go no matter what … so let’s get the best dollar we possibly can…

Re: Declan
A very good player worth 100m . However I think we can get a player 80% as good for 50m. That being in a position in midfield where we can lose a bit of ability without too much damage if we supplement the other 50m in other positions .

So basically we can survive losing him if the money is reinvested . A big fucking if from GSB.

Re: Declan
So all we hear on here is the cunts need to offer him a big deal on good money so the cunts do that and now theyre bigger cunts

Exactly. Sullivan making his 'media mates' dish out total bile about how we wanted to sign him for 8 years. No player of his standing would look at that offer twice.

Sullivan and Jim (i'm deep up your arse Mr Sullivan) White can fuck right off if they think we buy any of that total bollocks.

I dont believe this 8 year shit. Would be madness from either side of the deal.

Re: Declan
Mad Dog. Just about to make that self same point. Great minds an all that. As they accept £100m for hime they can trot out either Declan has turned down the biggest contract in West Hams history its clear that his future is not with us and we felt under the circumstances accepting the offer was in West ham's best interest to do so. OR

Fuckin ave it, 100 large for a youth player. Bung Davey boy £20m and he'll be 'appy. that should be plenty to stay up but in the meantime start sending out PR on how we bid £60m for 3 players, you know the drill. They'll lap that crap up.

The 8 year deal is purely so they can say "we tried" as if anyone fucking believes their bullshit

Re: Declan
It's like you have a partner with a narcissistic affective disorder and they can't admit they want to end the relationship. So they will act to create the impression that you want out, even though you are have made it clear you do not.

It's well fucked up and may result in a severe dip in performance.

Lily Hammer 9:18 Thu May 12
Re: Declan
If Declan has turned down the offer, it’s no surprise, because he and his camp were clear when they said not to make any more offers; not during the season, at least.

If that was still the understanding, then it’s distasteful to make this offer, publicly, just before the last home game. It’s a bit coercive, in my book.

I think Rice meant to stay for next season, but we’ll soon see how he reacts to this.

Sydney_Iron 5:23 Thu May 12
Re: Declan
Just been reading reports that Rice has turned down a 200K a week deal thats inflation linked and for 8 years?

Our owners being cunted and accused of showboating knowing full well he would turn it down! Not to mention and the reason being that Agents and those in the footballer contract game see it as a low ball offer (at least 85 million plus...FMOB) when you consider Haaland will get 375K a week and plenty of the top players in the PL are already on over 200K why would he sign it?

Another example of how fucked up modern day football is IMO! Dont begrudge these players doing very well out of the game, but with the cost of living skyrocketing and the avergae person doing it tough and wage growth not keeping up, just shows how out of touch football has become.

Re: Declan
Soucek is similar to Linguard.
Both had great spells Soucek a bit longer. Surprised many and all of us. It was never going to last . Linguard should of come to us last summer. Now he's a year older, won't have as much to prove. We all know Soucek is effective but the team has to develop and move forward.Certain game he'll be more valuable than in others.

Re: Declan
I'm hoping Soucek (& Coufal) can bounce back next season.
Full on last season then the Euros then straight into another season with European games and World Cup qualifiers.
A clear summer and a proper break eating potato salad hopefully sharpens both up.
Coufal's injury which he carried from the Euros hasnt helped
